Last week I attended a photography retreat in Philadelphia. Spending time with like minded, talented friends is so rejuvenating! I spent the entire week laughing and learning that along with being tone deaf (I cannot carry a tune to save my life), I also have lost all rhythm I once had. But bring out the Kinect and I can play any of the dance games better than my kids! =) One of the things we always do at our retreats is a shoot out. Erin and Caleb, along with their adorable fur children, “modeled” for us. Truly the best cuddlers I have ever seen. They have been married 5 years and they still act like they are on their honeymoon. Thank you Erin and Caleb! If you want to see more engagements and weddings, check out my wedding website, Poppy Art Photography.
*brushing of the dust* I’ve been posting all session peeks on facebook but don’t always post them here too. Facebook is so unreliable that I’ll be posting my peeks here.
So WOW! I love meeting new people and often I fall in love with my clients. Well I fell head over heels for this family. This mama is so lucky to have 3 (actually 4, daddy too) boys worship the ground she walks on. I lost count how many times I heard one of her boys say “I love you.” MELT.MY.HEART. But I totally understand why. She is not only gorgeous but sweet and funny. Would you look at her smile…geesh…contagious! I can’t say enough good things about The Boys (yes, they deserve to be capitalized). Not only were they adorable and fun, they had the best manners ever. And the little guy, he worked me. After a few minutes of hand holding I asked him to come home with me and he said yes. =) Amazing family + amazing fall colors + amazing light = pictures to die for! Shannon and AJ, thank you for allowing me to spend some time with your wonderful family! This first one I’m going to order BIG as a sample for my studio wall. It makes me all giddy inside!
Today I was able to photograph in one of my favorite parts of Michigan, Grosse Pointe. If you have never driven down Jefferson along the water you are truly missing out. My heart rate slows and I feel like I’m on vacation. The architecture is dear to my heart, leaded glass, old brick and ivy. Not to mention the beauty of Lake St. Clair. Then not to disappoint, I got to spend time with this fun loving family. I think they have a secret they are not sharing with us because they all look so young (the location of the Fountain of Youth maybe?)! And really they had a hard time keeping a straight faces, well except for the baby. She took the more serious road tonight! And I can’t blame just one family member for the shenanigans, they all laughed so easily. Thank you H Family for inviting me into your home and allowing me to spend time capturing your beautiful family.
See?? Serious baby. Oh my she has some absolutely stunning eyes!!
